Ramblings & Proceedings: Back at the Ranch Part 3

Dear Jeremy, Jaime, Claire, Vyez, Starsky, Hutch, and Scooby Doo,
You may be wonderin’ what else R & P stands for other than Ramblings & Proceedings. Well, as it turns out, lots o’ things….
Repetition & practice
Rethinking & preparing
Replanting & pruning
Replete & perfunctory
Reading & pondering
Reaping & planting
Ricochets & profusions
Repose & patience
Roses & promises
Most of all…..Resilience & Persistence
There is still more to do here in the back forty. I never realized exactly how much space was in this here section until I started tillin’ the ground. Since this is the first time this ground has ever been worked, it’s takin’ a bit longer that I anticipated. I’m a tryin’ to be more realistic with my timeline, realizin’ that all will get done in due time. I even added some time in for recreation & pleasure, plus time to write you these ramblings.
I’m really prayin’ hard that the all seeds I’m plantin’ will soon take hold and produce a fine crop that will benefit lots o’ people. When it all comes out, I expect it will be a bumper crop that I can’t, and won’t, keep to myself; this crop will be shared all over the place! It really is comin’ along and I can’t wait to show all y’all.
I’m also learnin’, maybe more like re-learnin’, a heap o’ stuff whilst I’m workin’ the land. First off, I have to do at least one thing every day towards my plan instead of foldin’ it over into a big heap and tryin’ to do it all at once in one day or another. I guess it’s a sense of discipline; if you want to get good at somethin’, accomplish somethin’, you should do it every day. You know, like how those athletes, musicians, gurus, monks, singers, exercisers, writers, and doctors do it – every day. By the way, the other part of this learnin’ is that there are no magic answers or instant solutions. A momentary sigh on that point: “Sigh.” A little magic, even once in a while, would be nice.
The other learnin’ for me is havin’ gratitude no matter what. Sometimes in my haste or impatience, I forgot to be thankful and prayerful in all things. The other day when I forgot this, I had to take a few steps back. I fell flat on my butt and got a splash of mud in my face to boot. Not a happy event.
So you know what I did?
I sighed.
Then I chuckled.
Then, I laughed, and laughed some more!
It was a great way to get rid of all that negative air sittin’ in my gut. Whew! What a relief. Kind of like takin’ a dose of baking soda in water (much better than Alka Seltzer if you didn’t know).
You know what else needs done daily? Fillin’ up with lots of positive affirmations along with askin’ for some help. I know I have all of you there at the ranch for support, but the help I’m talkin’ about is other-worldly like – you know, with God, angels, and all those zen-meditative-paranormal type beings. They are really quite helpful and I highly recommend them. In fact, I’d give them a 5-star rating on Google for sure if they had a web page.
Oh yes, and one other thing that is absolutely necessary – restore and protect. I have to remember to re-energize myself daily by thinkin’ good thoughts and to protect myself with what you might call a force field to help shed off any bad weather stuff that happens along. Now, bad weather has its place so to speak, cuz everything is supposed to work together for good, but that doesn’t mean I have to let it get me down or affect my positive mindset. I jus’ let it pass on by. No visitin’ time needed.
The last part of this message is that each day should have some fun! Maybe it’s a silly joke, hummin’ a peppy tune, or addin’ a little doodad to my collection o’ stuff just cuz it makes me smile. Eatin’ pancakes! Talkin’ to the critters, or myself for that matter. Best activity of all? Smilin’, cuz it doesn’t take near as much energy as frownin’ and the extra energy makes the work go better.
In closin’, jus’ remember, to everything there is a season. Lift up and rise up as you go along, bringin’ others up too in the wake of your positive actions. And, my friends, I assure you, all the roses and promises of good things will come about because of all our resilience and persistence – jus’ you wait ‘n see!
Lookin’ forward seein’ you all soon and showin’ you the new lay of the land!
Love to you all from
The Boss Lady in the Back Forty
Good day!
